Throughout 2020, La Dante produced and released a string of singles through his label Eraserhood Sound, honing his own interpretation of modern singer-songwriter soul. “Visions” is the last of this collection, capping the narrative arc of a bleary-eyed wanderer crisscrossing the desert, searching for something to believe in. The collection of singles touches on topics of addiction, indulgence, excess, love, faith, and the afterlife, culminating in the thrilling single “Visions”. The song showcases production from Perla and Vincent John, and features a mean backbeat, shimmering guitars, and brooding synthesizers. “Visions” is indeed just the latest slice of “Synth & Soul” to come out of Eraserhood Sound.
lyrics
I woke up in pain
Drank every bottle
The limo is flipped up in flames
Chasing a thing called fate
A desert in space
The devil is waiting
I dress my best to impress
Maybe it's time for a change
(Visions in the sky, visions in my mind, is it all a dream?)
Visions in the sky
I'll never ask what you are
You're just the stranger in the dark
Visions in the sky
I'll never ask what you are
You'll be my angel in the dark
I want to believe
In this woman I see
Shimmering
Now I've fallen under your spell
Temptation and greed
Almost destroyed me
Now I need you all to myself
Visions in the sky
I'll never ask what you are
You are my stranger in the dark
Visions in the sky
I'll never ask what you are
You'll be my angel in the dark
I'll never make it out of here alive
I found myself an angel so divine
Visions in the sky
You're just a stranger
(Visions in the sky, is it all a dream, is it a lie?)
Visions in my mind
You'll be my angel in the dark
Visions in the sky
I'll never ask what you are
You are the stranger from afar
Visions in my mind
I'll never ask what you are
You'll be my angel, angel in the dark
Visions in the sky
Visions in my mind
Is it all a dream
Is it all a lie?
Yeah, yeah
You'll be my stranger in the dark
Visions on my mind
Oh whoa
You'll be my angel, angel in the dark
In my mind
